World Veterinary Day
Today we celebrate World Veterinary Day. We’d like to take this chance to THANK all veterinarians for their work and dedication both to animal health and human health. Now, more than ever, this collective is showing their essential role in the society’s welfare status.
Veterinarians play a big role in the One health initiative preventing disease transmission from animals to humans while ensuring that animals are in the best welfare conditions. They do so by providing a continued care of the animals on the clinics and in the field with their daily work and supporting pet owners and farmers in this difficult time.
This year is the 20th anniversary of this world day and the topic of the celebration is: “protection of the environment to improve human and animal health”, to highlight the role of the veterinarians in the mitigation of the negative effects in the environment by promoting the responsible use of antibiotics and looking for new alternatives of treatment and management that are environmentally friendly.
This day helps to the achieve a better acknowledgment and visibility to the global veterinary community around the World.
